The G20 Finance Track meeting will focus on economic and financial issues and provides an effective forum for global economic discourse and policy coordination. Under the Presidency of India, the G20 meetings will take off with its first meeting in Bengaluru on Finance and Central Bank Deputies from 13-15 December 2022 followed by the first Framework Working group meeting on 16-17 December 2022. These meetings will also provide an opportunity for visitors to witness India’s economic growth and successes along with rich experience in India’s cultural diversity. This will give a chance for the visitors to visit the various historical and heritage attractions of the state. In the state of Karnataka, G20 meetings will be held in Bengaluru, Mysuru and Hampi spread over the year. The highlight or the focus area will also concentrate on women’s empowerment and representation, efforts to bring women to the fore and leading positions to boost socio-economic development and achievement of Sustainable Development Goals. Topics like human-centric approach, technology, and tech-enabled development in sectors like education & agriculture, will also be discussed. The theme of India G20 ‘One Earth One family One Future’ and the motto ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ is closely related to one of the major concerns and agendas of G20 on the concept of LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment).ĭuring the G20 meetings spread over a year, apart from economic issues, social and sustainable development goals will also be discussed. India, as G20 Presidency, will also be inviting Bangladesh, Egypt, Mauritius, Netherlands, Nigeria, Oman, Singapore, Spain, and UAE as guest countries apart from the participating countries. In 2022-23 India will host close to 200 meetings across the country starting from Udaipur with Sherpa followed by a Finance Track meeting in Bengaluru. The first Finance Track meeting will be led by Finance Minister Smt Nirmala Sitharaman and RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das under India’s G20 Presidency. The first meeting of the G20 Finance Track under India’s G20 Presidency will take off from one of the finest metropolitan cities in the country known for its high-tech IT industry. Bengaluru, the capital of Karnataka is all set to host the first G20 meeting starting from 13-15 December 2022.
